| FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE November 6, 2026 Stand for Children Arizona is Celebrating the Election of Early Childhood Champions PHOENIX, AZ – Stand for Children Arizona is celebrating the election of early childhood champions across the state who are committed to making Arizona a better place to raise a family. Over the summer, Stand for Children Arizona launched the Growing Arizona campaign to engage voters around issues facing Arizona families and the need to elect leaders who will champion investments in early childhood. Those investments include policies like a refundable Child Tax Credit, funding for child care subsidies, and solutions that make quality child care more affordable for working families. “Arizona families have made it clear that they want leaders who understand the challenges of raising a family and are ready to act,” said Rebecca Gau, Executive Director. “We’re glad to see early childhood champions elected across our state, but Election Day is just the beginning. Now it’s time to turn that support into meaningful policies that lower costs and give every Arizona child a strong start.” With new leadership at the Arizona State Legislature, Stand for Children Arizona is hopeful about the opportunity to make meaningful progress for young children and families. We look forward to seeing newly elected leaders work across the aisle and collaborate on solutions that put Arizona’s kids and families first. Early childhood champions will now make up 22 of 30 seats in the Arizona Senate and 44 of 60 seats in the Arizona House, meaning they received an A or B on Stand for Children Arizona’s Early Childhood Scorecard. Stand for Children Arizona looks forward to working with newly elected leaders to make early childhood a priority at the State Capitol and to deliver real solutions for families. “Let’s get to work,” Gau continued. “Arizona families deserve quality, affordable child care, and they shouldn’t have to wait any longer. |
