Arizona LEgislative District 17
Candidates Representing our shared values
Kevin Volk
From the classroom to the grocery store, Kevin Volk is committed to supporting working families. As a former teacher and a small business owner, Kevin Volk knows the issues facing our classrooms and our local economies. That’s why he is running to implement common-sense solutions to bring down food and housing costs and invest in our public schools and the future of our communities. He will vote to increase funding for our public schools so they can repair and improve school buildings and increase pay for teachers and school support staff.

John McLean
John Mclean believes that a true public servant puts the communities’ interests above their own. As a life-long education champion, Mclean knows that our schools are the foundation of our communities. But decades of defunding has made it difficult for educators to remain in our classrooms. When elected, John Mclean will fight to increase funding for education so we can reduce class sizes, attract and pay teachers more, and invest in career technical education so students are prepared for good paying jobs.
What’s at stake
Rachel Jones is dangerous for Arizona
- She voted to keep an 1864 abortion ban, even in cases of rape or incest that would put doctors and women in prison (HB 2677).
- She voted for a huge tax break for the wealthy that slashed Arizona’s revenue by almost $500 million (SB 1828).
- She voted to hurt low-income families and pregnant moms by cutting SNAP benefits for pregnant women and children (HB 2502 & 2503).
- She voted to reduce unemployment benefits (SB 1167).
- Rachel is a “proud election denier” who falsely claims the 2020 and 2022 elections were stolen.
- She sponsored an extreme proposal to ignore the will of Arizona voters and declare the winner of the 2024 presidential election BEFORE the election (HCR 2055).
