What is an override?

In general, overrides are districts asking for permission to spend above their funding from the state to fund people and programs. These are things like all-day kindergarten, honors classes, and teacher salaries that help the schools operate on a daily basis and improve the academic experience.

What is a bond?

Bonds, on the other hand, are districts asking for permission to take out a loan to pay for infrastructure and “durable goods”. These are things like replacing broken air conditioner units, weatherproofing roofs, maintaining school buildings, upgrading security, and buying school buses that help enable our schools to fulfill their mission of teaching our kids.
