English Center for Early Literacy and Learning Success
Megan Jalil
Megan Jalil is a Great First Eight Implementation Support Provider and Curriculum Specialist at Stand for Children, where she supports schools and educators in implementing high-quality early childhood curriculum and strengthening instructional practices.
Megan earned her bachelor’s degree in English Literature and Education Studies from UCLA. While in college, she began working in schools across Los Angeles, putting the theory and pedagogy she was studying into practice with students and teachers. After earning a master’s degree in Elementary Education from Loyola Marymount University, Megan became a classroom teacher and helped lead the transformation of reading and writing instruction at her school.
Throughout her work as a classroom teacher and instructional coach in Los Angeles, Megan developed a strong foundation in early childhood instruction, collaborative planning, assessment, and equitable teaching practices. Most recently, she worked as an educational consultant in schools across Southern California, partnering with teachers, school leaders, and districts to strengthen instruction, analyze student work, and turn classroom observations into meaningful professional learning and actionable next steps.
Megan was drawn to Stand for Children by the opportunity to combine her passion for early literacy with her commitment to building trusting relationships with educators and honoring children as capable, joyful learners.
As a child, Megan wanted to be a librarian before setting her sights on teaching, so you can often find her supporting her local public library by checking out a stack of children’s books! Outside of work, Megan enjoys spending time with friends and family, practicing hot yoga, training for her first half-marathon, or reading on a blanket at the park.
