Demian Lucas

People & Culture Executive

Demian is originally from Seattle and a long-time Oregonian with roots in New Orleans that tie directly to her beloved Southern Creole Culture. Her parents and grandparents were very active in the civil rights movement, and she grew a passion for helping people and working towards equity and inclusion at a very early age. She is a proven, innovative people leader and has made a real difference in several organizations throughout her career including Legacy Health Systems, NW Natural, and Portland General Electric. She has held roles including Vice President of Talent, Talent Acquisition Manager, Senior Human Resource Business Partner, Lead Recruiter, and Benefit Analyst. Her certifications include Senior Certified Professional (SHRM), Senior Professional of Human Resources (HRCI), Diversity Professional (Diversity First) and others. Demian is the incoming co-vice chair of the Impact NW board of directors. She also serves on the Multnomah Athletic Foundation’s board scholarship committee.

Demian holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications and a Master of Science degree in Communications with a focus on organizational, diversity and interpersonal communications from Portland State University.

As Executive of People and Culture, Demian leads human resources, engagement, diversity, equity, and inclusion and is a member of the executive team.
