English Center for Early Literacy and Learning Success
Carson Krome has been volunteering, interning, and working in the field of early education since she herself was in elementary school. She received a full scholarship to the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where she earned her B.A. in Elementary Education. Growing up on the line between the suburbs and Detroit, she became passionate about equal access to high-quality, research-based, student-centered education. While in college, she worked with programs like LearnEarly and The City Tutors to support children who lacked such access.
As the Great First Eight Editorial Coordinator, Carson continues that work by supporting curriculum designers, teachers, and school administrators across the country.
Carson enjoys learning new skills to continue to improve at her job. She also loves learning new things outside of work, including sock knitting, whitewater rafting, dog training, spoon carving, and volunteer tax preparation, to name a few.
