Karen has 27 years of finance and accounting experience, beginning in public accounting at Deloitte and Touche, and most recently serving as Finance Director at Siemens Industry Software, leading a team of 9 on forecasting, budgeting, and business partnering for all the corporate functions in the Software division.

Karen was born and raised in Los Angeles and obtained her B.A. in Economics/Accounting from Claremont McKenna College before earning her CPA license after a few years at Deloitte. Karen moved to Portland, Oregon in 2007 and has raised her two daughters in the city that feels like home.

Karen has a passion for empowering people and building community and while at Siemens was the co-chair for the Women’s Impact Network Employee Resource Group and Program Manager for the Women’s Mentoring program, growing the program from 3 sites in the US to 16 sites across 8 countries.

In her free time, Karen loves hiking with her husband and dog, watching her younger daughter play lacrosse, and reading every book she can get her hands on.
