EDUCATION CHAMPIONS

Elect Education Champions

Stand Louisiana is proud to endorse the following Legislative & BESE Candidates.

electing bold leaders

In Louisiana, too many third graders can’t read on grade level and too many high school students don’t make it to graduation with the skills they need to be successful in life. That is why Stand Louisiana’s members are committed to electing leaders who are deeply committed to improving educational opportunities for children.

We know that bold leaders will stand up and make the best decisions for our students. That’s why we work with parents and community members in critical elections to educate voters about candidates who will keep children at the center of their policy decisions.

Stand Louisiana uses a robust and transparent endorsement process to identify and support those candidates who best stand for the values and ideals espoused by Stand Louisiana.

the endorsement process

Stand for Children Louisiana uses a robust and transparent endorsement process in to identify and support candidates who best align with the values and ideals espoused by our membership.

All candidates running for critical school board and/or legislative seats are invited to complete a written questionnaire about their priorities, beliefs, and vision.

An endorsement committee comprised of parent, student, community, and faith leader members was organized to review candidate’s responses to the written questionnaires, biographies, resumes, and voting records when applicable.

Candidates who submit a completed questionnaire are invited to participate in an interview with and endorsement committee. In the interview, endorsement committee members dove into candidate’s beliefs and truly assessed their values and positions.

The endorsement committee then independently discussed their options and choose to endorse none, one, or more candidates in any given race.
