Please enjoy our final newsletter of 2023, and have a happy holiday season!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\" id=\"h-december-highlights\"><strong>december highlights<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>NEW BRIEF: INCREASING ACCESS TO ADVANCED COURSEWORK IN WASHINGTON<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a new brief with EdTrust, we outline recommendations for ways to increase equitable enrollment in dual credit classes and increase the benefits of taking these classes, including saving students time and money by earning college credit.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/edtrust.org\/resource\/increasing-access-to-advanced-coursework-in-washington?{{{EngagementData}}}\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">View the report!<\/a>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2023 ANNUAL REPORT<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When we are united, our children prosper and our community thrives. Our team is incredibly grateful for this community and your contribution to the<a href=\"https:\/\/stand.org\/washington\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2023\/09\/wa_2023_annual_report_general_v1.pdf?emci=f6d8242f-e89d-ee11-bea1-002248223f36&amp;emdi=ea000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000001&amp;ceid={{ContactsEmailID}}\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">&nbsp;impact we\u2019ve made in 2023<\/a>. There\u2019s true power in togetherness and we are better off for it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year alone we:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Advocated to keep critical funding investments for the Ninth Grade Success Initiative<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Eliminated all remaining juvenile court fines and fees<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Removed fees for College in the High School and expanded access to summer Running Start<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>We couldn\u2019t have done any of it without you:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>13,480<\/strong>&nbsp;community members digitally engaged with us by taking action and staying updated<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>547<\/strong>&nbsp;community members signed our Ninth Grade Success petition<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>21<\/strong>&nbsp;people stepped up to testify on our legislative priorities &#8212; including 8 youth, young adults, and community members with direct lived experience of the court system<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>NINTH GRADE SUCCESS ACTION NEEDED<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Disappointing news: Gov. Inslee\u2019s budget proposal released last week failed to invest crucial funds to sustain the Ninth Grade Success Initiative.
