Through parent and educator organizing, we unite individuals with a common goal and message, amplifying their voices for greater influence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Organizing is a way to purposefully bring a large group of people together and empower them to create change. When the people who are personally impacted by the issues show up, speak out, and vote, that has an impact on decision-makers. Our parent and educator organizers educate and empower ordinary people, like you, to come together as an extraordinary force for change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At Stand, we have 4 key steps to organizing for change. We:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Educate<\/strong>&nbsp;parents and community members on the issues<\/li><li><strong>Build<\/strong>&nbsp;teams of members with team leaders<\/li><li><strong>Develop<\/strong>&nbsp;leaders\u2019 and members\u2019 skills, knowledge, and confidence<\/li><li><strong>Mobilize<\/strong>&nbsp;teams to take action on issues and electoral campaigns<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Our organizing work encompasses multiple activities.&nbsp; Ways in which community members engage with us include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Educational opportunities, like workshops, community forums, and presentations<\/li><li>Hosting or attending house parties or other small-group gatherings<\/li><li>Mobilizing and taking action directly with decision-makers through: testimony, petition drives, meeting with legislators or School Board members, Lobby Days, phone banks, canvasses<\/li><li>Becoming an official leader or member of Stand for Children<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Organizing for change is a vital part of our mission. Every day, decisions are made about education that directly impact children in every classroom. Our mission is to ensure the people making these decisions are well-informed champions for children and that their decisions are made in students\u2019 best interest to have the greatest positive impact.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We show up, we speak up, we reach out, we vote.
