Katie (she/her) describes herself as a storyteller, an educator, a lover, and a talker. Having served as the professional communicator for an outdoor musical theater production, a women’s shelter, and a brewery, she brings a people-first lens to her advocacy work at Stand. Katie is passionate about creating a better world by learning how to be better to each other. She’s grateful for the opportunity to work closely with change-makers in the education space and to be part of a team that is dedicated to using an explicitly anti-racist framework in all that we do. Katie lives with her wife and their infant daughter in Burien alongside two dogs, four chickens, and a dozen beautiful trees. She loves to partner dance (swing and two-step!) and is actively building a strong community of heart-forward people in the Seattle area.
