English Washington Staff
Carolina is a California native who moved to Washington for her role as the State Operations and Development Coordinator. Carolina was born to immigrant parents in the Bay Area and raised on the California Central Coast. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology at California State University Stanislaus and has her certification in Business Law. She began her career working as an English teacher at a middle school in Alicante, Spain and then began her work with the nonprofit CAPSLO as a Program Eligibility Analyst under the early childcare sector alongside the State, Head Start, and Early Head Start programs helping prepare parents and children for their educational journey with a strong foundation. Carolina is passionate about creating change in the education system and helping all students and families feel empowered. She can’t wait to further help support Stand’s mission in creating a brighter future for all students.
In her free time, she enjoys hiking, reading, and spending time with friends and family, as well exploring various food places. Gaining opportunities to explore, meet new people, and creating new experiences is how she keeps her heart full.
