English marketing & communications
Avery Crocker, Social Media & Digital Marketing Specialist, builds community across social channels by utilizing social media platforms as digital third spaces where people gather, discuss critical issues facing young people today, and develop strategies for organizing their local communities into action. She uses these tools to both amplify the work being done at Stand, as well as to listen and engage with supporters, educators, and organizers. She is also responsible for strategic ad placement across digital channels.
Born and raised in Washington D.C. Avery developed a passion for supporting her community through the use of social media and communication at an early age. After graduating with a degree in Marketing from Kent State University, Avery worked as a Communications Assistant for the National Committee for Responsive Philanthropy, where she used her platform to further amplify the work of grassroots organizations and those on the frontlines of social justice movements. Stand’s culture is what drew Avery to work for Stand, because the staff share her passion for social justice, and are always willing to push the boundaries and find new ways to tackle challenges and advance our mission.
“In school, my favorite subject was English because that’s where I was able to have the most discussions and interact with my peers.”
