Val is running for Congressional District 4 in southwestern Oregon, which includes Eugene, Springfield, Corvallis, Cottage Grove, Florence, Coos Bay, and more. Our endorsement committee, made up of parents, students, and long time Stand members, met with Val this summer. We were confident that with her deep roots in our district, and her long record of accomplishment, she will do a great job representing us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through almost a decade in the Oregon legislature, and now as Oregon Commissioner of Labor and Industries, she has clearly demonstrated a commitment to help students and families. She has proven her ability to get things done for all Oregonians: expanding apprenticeship programs, fighting for fair wages, and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rachel Burstein, a public school parent and Eugene Stand for Children leader shared: \u201cVal got started in politics by knocking on doors to meet voters and build support for schools. For 20 years, she has been out in the community working for children and families. She has proven to us that she will work for equity, opportunity, including expanding Career and Technical Education, for every child. We know she will continue to care, to listen, and to be in touch with the people in the district once she is elected\u201d.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are proud to endorse Val Hoyle and look forward to partnering with her to support kids in Oregon through the national legislature.
