It\u2019s goal is to lift Oregon\u2019s graduation rates, boost career and technical education for students, increase advanced classes to challenge students, and reduce the state-wide dropout rate. So far, <strong>Measure 98 has been an incredible success and has brought over $750 million in additional funding to schools across the state.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh5.googleusercontent.com\/eVFLgXh_SrXpv8ayKAsHt-nS4l6UlxlGSEuF1ahzgEE94AmZcaRI-rFar87u1ldfHvaG7HMrj0utoW9glEvYG4mACxK85lZ-RzQj2jz_uGXfS43T6Sy3733kFeusTMnhTgGEdzBBQKPetO1ft9_L7M1JPTOTK5wP1LHUGqGu_6r6rBNhdrv11rk3YRc6\" alt=\"\" width=\"850\" height=\"383\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Since 2016, Oregon graduation rates have continued to climb to record levels.<strong> Data has shown that schools that receive Measure 98 funding are increasingly likely to have a higher graduation rate the following year.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Measure 98 itself functions as a key contributor to the great success we\u2019ve had with graduation rates in the past few years. It was often cited as a key contributor to student growth and is widely regarded by the Oregon Department of Education (ODE) to be a major contributor in record-high graduation rates statewide.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh5.googleusercontent.com\/hGXXdRpbp80Iv3xLmhgAZLjbWYfOf2OCa6hwwiVfWVtlLSeQb--0dNhYscRYTBTsLhN99pibxdrsJohWpiop_g7KWEnGihTtcCB-IFI5R0j9ZY6hD-3jxoA12L0Y7adYpLGqY0ZxNU0Y7wmrIV2stS7xuVV-Tm4ccFeslcPZP8GAkxFZLpnJ6kH-UBr8\" alt=\"\" width=\"846\" height=\"573\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Measure 98 has provided a unique benefit to underrepresented and underserved populations in high schools<\/strong>, with these groups often receiving the largest increases in graduation rates.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Measure 98 was drafted with a focus on more equitable outcomes and even in its first years, we\u2019re seeing achievement gaps close. The ability for schools to write <strong>targeted, effective plans <\/strong>with <strong>guaranteed state funding <\/strong>under Measure 98 <strong>gives schools a chance to improve outcomes for historically underserved student groups.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh6.googleusercontent.com\/ZPN3_bbdKRB0UsuNzXm2wYbJH8p2-Natf-zmy3gJV5OHc3FPaQY0U_jwt_RsQqI-v0gPfvdbbvVPSEBzVi5yZxl_v1yVi23mtogUpzroozuK-WQO9S-p-F5J4vlVsXE6sKGuzRXdQstEQGLeGrmZ3e9YGMatok3WNvB5tJRwHvG4s9FOEErhEwy9Hrww\" alt=\"\" width=\"807\" height=\"341\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Career and technical education (CTE) is one of the most positively affected areas of Measure 98; an ODE report noted that \u201c[Measure 98] has contributed to substantial growth in CTE programs and increases in equity of access among the students served.\u201d CTE programs have grown exponentially since the implementation of Measure 98.
