Our champions share our commitment to improving student outcomes through research-aligned policies and accountability in our key priority areas of instructional time, chronic absenteeism, early literacy, and high school success. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We support candidates who are unapologetically child-centered and demonstrate a commitment to raising student achievement, closing opportunity gaps, and pursuing research-informed solutions that improve outcomes for Oregon students. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-left\" id=\"h-eligibility\">ELIGIBILITY:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Stand for Children Oregon focuses its endorsement efforts on races and measures that have a strong and direct impact on public education policy and student outcomes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We currently consider endorsements in:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Statewide races<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Oregon Legislative races <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>School Board races<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-left\" id=\"h-our-review-process\">our review process:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Our endorsement process combines research, written responses, and interviews.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-left\" id=\"h-step-1-candidate-evaluation\"><strong>Step 1: Candidate Evaluation<\/strong><\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p>We begin by reviewing a candidate&#8217;s record, public statements, leadership experience, and engagement on education issues. This initial assessment helps us determine whether there is meaningful alignment with our mission and priorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-left\" id=\"h-step-2-written-questionnaire\"><strong>Step 2: written questionnaire<\/strong><\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p>Candidates who meet our initial criteria may be invited to complete a questionnaire that provides an opportunity to share their perspectives on key education issues and student outcomes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-left\" id=\"h-step-3-candidate-interview\"><strong>Step 3: Candidate interview<\/strong><\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p>Candidates demonstrating a baseline level of alignment may be invited to participate in an interview with Stand for Children Oregon staff. These conversations allow us to better understand a candidate&#8217;s priorities, values, and approach to improving outcomes for children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-left\" id=\"h-step-4-endorsement-decisions\"><strong>Step 4: endorsement decisions<\/strong><\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p>Information gathered throughout the process is carefully reviewed before endorsement recommendations are made.
