Parents like me submitted a plan for a more just and equitable IPS to district leaders back in March and<a href=\"https:\/\/p2a.co\/TDKfWDC\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> your signature will help us gather enough support to show the board they need to act now.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"A More Just and Equitable IPS | Swantella\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/XauTPSTjRfk?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>I believe:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>IPS needs to set clear expectations for student attainment in their 2025 strategic plan that address the barriers standing in the way of universal and unbiased student success;<\/li><li>The district should grow schools and programs that have dramatically improved results for children of color and traditionally underserved students;<\/li><li>All schools within IPS should be funded equitably, including the distribution of public referendum dollars;<\/li><li>There should be a clear goal set to increase the number of teachers who reflect the diverse student population;<\/li><li>A language justice policy should be established that supports and celebrates parents and children with language differences; and<\/li><li>The board should publicly review if the millions of dollars being spent on police in schools would be better used to address the social and emotional health of students.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button has-custom-font-size has-large-font-size\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link has-white-color-color has-standart-blue-background-color has-text-color has-background\" href=\"https:\/\/p2a.co\/TDKfWDC\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>SIGN YOUR NAME NOW AND STAND WITH PARENTS LIKE ME<\/strong><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>All IPS kids can achieve if they are given the right supports, which is why I am asking you to add your name to this petition to IPS leaders.
