But the truth is, that gap\u202fremains. House Bill 1423 gives us a chance to change that, and I want to thank lawmakers for supporting this bill.&nbsp;<\/em>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cThe new building and transportation authority&nbsp;creates a structure where IPS and charters can work together, where resources are shared, and where the focus is on students\u2014not systems.&nbsp;By requiring transportation across all school types and expanding programs that deliver the best results, this&nbsp;bill creates&nbsp;greater&nbsp;opportunity for families who lack real choices in our current system.\u201d<\/em>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>-Dontia Dyson, IPS parent and Stand advocate<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&nbsp;\u201cWhen buses are unreliable or buildings are not properly&nbsp;maintained, families are left with limited&nbsp;options. Parents&nbsp;like me&nbsp;ask for help,&nbsp;and we&nbsp;wait for improvements,&nbsp;but too often&nbsp;we\u2019re&nbsp;left waiting.&nbsp;That\u2019s&nbsp;why&nbsp;I\u2019m&nbsp;excited to see&nbsp;House Bill 1423&nbsp;pass the legislature.<\/em>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cThis bill&nbsp;is about&nbsp;greater&nbsp;accountability and&nbsp;more&nbsp;access&nbsp;to quality
