{"id":1919,"date":"2024-12-23T09:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-12-23T09:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stand.org\/indiana\/?p=1919"},"modified":"2024-12-19T18:33:28","modified_gmt":"2024-12-19T18:33:28","slug":"something-special-is-going-on","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stand.org\/indiana\/our-stories\/something-special-is-going-on\/","title":{"rendered":"Something special is going on\u2026"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Before we close out 2024, I just wanted to offer a big thank you for supporting the movement we\u2019re building toward better, more just public schools for children in Indianapolis and across our state.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As we\u2019ve hosted celebrations for our parent advocates and held several meetings with these community leaders to plan for 2025, I came away with an enormous feeling of gratitude for what Stand Indiana has been able to build over the last decade.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yes, I\u2019m grateful for the numerous legislative accomplishments that have been led by our parents, but moreover I\u2019m proud of the collective community we\u2019ve nurtured \u2013 with parents from many races and ethnicities, speaking different languages, all coming together to fight for better public schools. When we held our holiday celebration for our parent network this month,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/standindiana\/posts\/pfbid024eh2d5uir3HiLhdq27z7xpPfoNxsNkF3SgKSKkfxf48qeksknwKMETzX3dnTpeG1l\"> I would argue that the room was filled with one of the most diverse gatherings of people in all of our city that night.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>In a world that aims to divide us more than bring us together, I\u2019m heartened by the fact we\u2019ve built an amazingly diverse community of advocates who are taking care of one another and while taking a stand for the success of our children.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>None of this would be possible without you.<\/strong> Thank you for supporting our work here at Stand for Children, and I hope you and your loved ones have a happy and healthy holiday season.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Before we close out 2024, I just wanted to offer a big thank you for supporting the movement we\u2019re building toward better, more just public schools for children in Indianapolis and across our state.&nbsp;&nbsp;
