The Case for Kindness<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Teach Kindness lessons support the Illinois State Board of Education\u2019s Social and Emotional Learning Standards<\/a>. They equip educators to deliberately teach skills that might otherwise only be addressed off the cuff through teachable moments or might not be taught at all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Research<\/a> has shown that intentionally and systematically teaching kindness enhances students\u2019 sense of safety, support, and acceptance. Illinois is home to many schools that have embraced the program and weaved it into their school cultures and classroom lessons. School communities have richly benefitted from a focus on kindness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
