Pueblo School District 60 is writing its cell phone policy right now, and that means the next few days matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If we want students to be able to focus on what matters most at school \u2014 learning, connecting with teachers, and building healthy peer relationships \u2014 it\u2019s important that district leaders hear from the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here are two things you can do today:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  1. Take the D60 community survey (closes May 1).<\/a><\/strong>
    D60 convened a committee to research and help shape its cell phone policy and is now asking families and community members for input. Your response will help inform the committee\u2019s final recommendation to the school board.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Call for an \u201coff and away\u2011all\u2011day\u201d phone\u2011free policy in your feedback.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Research and school experience show that keeping phones put away for the full school day supports student learning, improves focus, reduces distractions and conflict, and benefits students\u2019 mental health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The survey is brief, can be completed on your phone, and closes tomorrow<\/strong>.<\/a> Please take a moment today to share your perspective and urge D60 to adopt a strong, off and away all\u2011day phone\u2011free policy that puts students first.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
