The bill was passed unanimously by the House Judiciary Committee and referred to the House Appropriations Committee.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/leg.colorado.gov\/bills\/hb24-1311?emci=0890cafc-7fd2-ee11-85f9-002248223794&amp;emdi=ea000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000001&amp;ceid=\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">HB24-1311, Family Affordability Tax Credit,&nbsp;<\/a>was introduced in the House. The bill creates a family affordability tax credit and will distribute a portion of the state\u2019s $1.8 billion TABOR surplus to families, including those making up to $95,000 a year, to help cover the rising costs of housing, food, and child care.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/leg.colorado.gov\/bills\/hb24-1136?emci=0890cafc-7fd2-ee11-85f9-002248223794&amp;emdi=ea000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000001&amp;ceid=\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">HB24-1136, Healthier Social Media Use by Youth, <\/a>was passed unanimously by the House Educations Committee and referred to the House Appropriations Committee. The bill requires the Department of Education to compile a bank of evidence-based program materials regarding the mental health impacts of social media use by children and teens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:25px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading alignwide has-white-color has-standart-blue-background-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-c1648a4a90b481f3df926aafcbdbd652\" id=\"h-our-take-implementing-clean-slate-gives-people-the-opportunity-to-thrive\">Our Take: Implementing Clean Slate Gives People the Opportunity to Thrive<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:15px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-28f84493 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:33.33%\">\n<div style=\"height:17px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center has-dark-gray-color has-light-blue-background-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-b927ab9e8d21094e1094b98bda39cd91\" id=\"h-nearly-a-third-of-colorado-s-population-is-currently-listed-in-state-databases-as-having-a-criminal-record-many-for-a-single-low-level-and-non-violent-offense\" style=\"padding-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--50);padding-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--50);text-transform:uppercase\">Nearly a third of Colorado&#8217;s population is currently listed in state databases as having a criminal record -many for <strong>a single, low-level, and non-violent offense.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:80%\">\n<p><br>We are thrilled that The House Judiciary Committee unanimously passed <a href=\"https:\/\/leg.colorado.gov\/bills\/hb24-1133?emci=0890cafc-7fd2-ee11-85f9-002248223794&amp;emdi=ea000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000001&amp;ceid=\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>HB24-1133, Criminal Record Sealing &amp; Expungement Changes<\/strong><\/a><strong>.<\/strong> This <strong>bipartisan legislation <\/strong>makes important updates and clarifications to Colorado&#8217;s landmark &#8220;clean slate&#8221; policy (<a href=\"http:\/\/leg.colorado.gov\/bills\/sb22-099?emci=0890cafc-7fd2-ee11-85f9-002248223794&amp;emdi=ea000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000001&amp;ceid=\">SB22-099) <\/a>which was signed into law in 2022.
