was passed on a unanimous vote and now goes to the Committee of the Whole.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a Committee January 30th.\u00a0\u00a0 <a Appropriations.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-our-take\">Our Take<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We are encouraged by the unanimous vote in support of HB23-1001 Expanding Assistance For Educator Programs in this week\u2019s House Education Committee hearing. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This bill is a top priority for Stand this legislative session and is a continuation of <a href=\"http:\/\/link.stand.org\/ls\/click?upn=BEwbkLUJIqHJlyTjUblv4GSzFcOXtJLLiH2mbUvawbQdc4pcpPh60E7neh2Yhi-2Fd8h0pRjF1Zwt3GbyoMb9IUg-3D-3DI3EH_ojV7agdgxOqbm-2Fz-2FRWoQB8H4k6VJxttJbhReSRMDTBWQl4T1DDY8-2FG47cOkTwlmGW2H-2FFOuPjWVyRGIOO-2BFX8Ob9777ekrC8LwDiXaVDuWJPVFP69WY5sP82nOZCuVPJWyrAGj0beY-2BnndmAfbJuZIorrCno99WcQBaNxanuOirQsDYDLqbayqtmWS1M1WmhDTuQhaor-2BCqsT6H-2F8ZiH4O5OER-2BXBmyBgCjDbUf7UQoTcDk7Ino1808DCRi8mMrOK53eOt8aD423JuFWZZaZXgPi-2BHDTQz1yAxs6WK7Z91MiSQi4kyEx2gEbRcSCX6-2BfsitoXjZ-2FFwo10qygos-2F7fw-3D-3D\">HB22-1220,<\/a> Removing Barriers to Educator Preparation a bill we championed last session that paid for teacher exam fees, expanded pathways to licensure by allowing multiple ways to demonstrate competency and paid teacher candidates for student teaching work.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Colorado educator, Anthony Abel-Pype, joined us in support of the bill, submitting written testimony saying, \u201cBills that can offer incentives, financial and otherwise, for people in general, and people of color in particular, to choose a career path in education, and to stick with it, will go a long way to improving youth. Children are more susceptible to manipulation and more likely to provide inaccurate information and false confessions under such pressure.
