253-208-3755

Sara was born and raised in Mexico City and grew up in Cuernavaca. She holds a Kindergarten Teaching Certification from the Universidad Autonoma del Estado de Morelos, and taught Spanish in the University Place School District.

Sara has worked in Pierce County as a Family Support Worker for the Protection Partnership for Children working under local agencies: Centro Latino, Children's Home Society of Washington, Communities in Schools of Lakewood, Metropolitan Development Council and the Multicultural Child and Family Hope Center ECEAP. She most recently spent five years as a Family Support Specialist at Multicultural Child and Family Hope Center, advocating for parents and teaching them leadership skills as they learn how to navigate our Tacoma Public School System. She also facilitates a bilingual support group for Latina women at Catherine Place, where she is an energetic educator, advocate, and trainer for immigrant women.

She has a wealth of training in early childhood development and education, and her passion is to provide support and teach parents to better understand the educational system so that they can become more involved in their child's education. She cares deeply about making our community a better place, and empowering those who have a stake in our schools.
