Katie (she/her) describes herself a storyteller, an educator, a lover, and a talker. She comes to the education advocacy world with a career in communications that has spanned a diversity of fields. Having been the professional communicator for an outdoor musical theater production, a women's shelter and a brewery, she brings a people-first lens to her advocacy communications work at Stand. Katie is passionate about creating a better world by learning how to be better to eachother. She's grateful for the opportunity to work closely with change-makers in the education space and to be part of a team that is dedicated to using an explicitly anti-racist framework in all that we do. Katie identifies as queer, is a proud dog mom, loves to partner dance (swing and two-step!), and is actively building a strong community of heart-forward people in Seattle.
