  • Shannon Campion

    Shannon founded the Stand for Children Washington affiliate in 2007 after working with Stand in Oregon since 2002. She grew up in Western Massachusetts and received dual degrees from Lehigh University in political science and sociology, Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa, followed by a master’s degree in political science. She has two children in Seattle Public Schools.

    Anne was born and raised in Seattle, and attended Laurelhurst Elementary before going to Lakeside. She holds a Sociology degree from UC Berkeley and a law degree from Georgetown. She joined Stand in March 2012 and has a young daughter about to enter preschool.

    Dave began his career as a middle school science teacher in the South Bronx, where he taught special education, English as a second language, and general education. Dave holds a B.A. in Biology from the College of Wooster and an M.S. in Teaching from Fordham University. He joined Stand for Children in 2010.
  • Anne Grant-Anderson

    Anne grew up in Boise, Idaho surrounded by a politically engaged and passionate family. She has a political science degree and a masters in teaching from the University of Washington, and taught second grade in the Bellevue School District for 3 years. Anne joined Stand for Children in June 2009 and became a mother in 2012.

    Eric was born and raised in Mount Vernon, Washington and graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Political Science. He served as Vice President of his student government where he advocated for affordable and accessible higher education. After graduation, Eric worked in one of the most competitive gubernatorial races in the country as the Digital Specialist on Rob McKenna’s campaign.

    Parasa started her career as a kindergarten teacher at a K-8 charter school in North Minneapolis. Her students have taught her so much about how to be patient, positive, and persistent in the face of many challenges. Their energy and stories continue to drive her work in education advocacy and policy.

    Monique first realized her passion for public education when she was working in Tacoma as a peer tutor in the special education department at Foss High School. In that role, she saw first-hand the positive impact engaging teachers and community involvement can have on student learning.

    Joseph began working around strategic communications and grassroots organizing as an intern in Washington, DC. It was during this time he realized that effecting positive change, in our government and communities, came from engaging the public, advocating and promoting relevant issues, along with crafting effective policy and legislation.
