The school year is ending soon for most families across Washington. At Stand, we have closed one chapter and started another. I’m so proud to introduce you to Natalie Hester, who is Stand for Children Washington’s new State Organizing Director. Natalie has a passion for making connections between families and schools. In this role, she will be building a strong network to identify and amplify voices from every corner of Washington to help shape an education system that supports positive outcomes for kids.
Natalie knows what it means to be a parent and struggle with decisions around a child’s education. As the mother of two teenage daughters, she is navigating the challenges of the public, public charter, and private school systems trying to find the best fit for her daughters. Natalie’s deep understanding of the people who live in the Puget Sound region makes her an incredible asset to our team. She has worked in community and economic development for over two decades and comes to Stand with a wealth of experience and knowledge about what it means to create and support vibrant communities.
Natalie is most excited about making connections with families and collaborating with community members and new partners. If you’re interested in chatting more about how to build community together, shoot her an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
I am so grateful we are able to work with someone like Natalie who will not only strengthen our work but embolden us to push harder and reach higher when it comes to the families we serve and the policies we support. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me or to our newest teammate if you have ideas for us in our work with Washington families or just to say hello!
