I consider myself an involved parent, but starting this job has made me realize that there is a lot I don’t know.
For example, although my daughter fortunately graduated high school earlier this summer, I just learned that she should have filled out a High School and Beyond Plan back when she was in eighth grade! (I hadn’t even heard of the plan until starting this job with Stand.)
Now, in my position as our Statewide Organizing Director, I’m determined to share the knowledge I’ve gained with families and parents around the state, especially since the first day of school is just around the corner. I'm building an email list to share those resources - would you like to join?
If you’d like more information about how to better support your child with tools like the High School and Beyond Plan, how to advocate for their 504 or IEP, or with research about their most critical academic milestones, sign-up here and I'll email you periodically (not too often!) with resources and information to help.
My job is to find ways to support you so that you can support your kids. I look forward to sharing what I know with you and learning from you in return. Thanks for joining me on this journey.
