OSPI released a document on Monday, April 6 detailing Continuous Learning resources and tools for districts and students. The guidance is grounded in compassion, communication, and common sense rather than the traditional compliance measures all are familiar with in the educational community. Our schools are the backbone of our democracy and structures, routines, and ongoing learning opportunities will create the calm connection our students and families need at this critical time in our state.
This document covers in detail support for educators, students, and families in pursuing continuous learning during prolonged school closures due to COVID-19.
Additionally, OSPI has released guidance for sustaining inclusionary practices for students with disabilities through these continuous learning opportunities. This resource is not an exhaustive list of tasks for districts to follow, but rather recommendations, strategies, and resources for providing inclusive continuous learning opportunities for students with disabilities during school facility closures. The information included in this document attempts to address the most frequently asked questions for providing special education and related services through continuous learning.
