After 20 years in office, Lieutenant Governor Brad Owen is stepping down. As voters, we have a responsibility to select a candidate who can command the respect of the Washington State Senate.

Stand for Children Washington PAC believes that candidate is Steve Hobbs. The Seattle Times has also endorsed Hobbs, saying, “That [Hobbs’] track record positions Hobbs to be a good judge when questions arise about the Senate’s governing rules and to be a solutions-oriented arbiter between the political parties.”

Steve is a lifelong Washingtonian who has shown steady leadership in the Senate over the last 10 years. His commitment to finding bipartisan solutions to some of our states greatest challenges, like education and transportation, makes Steve Hobbs the best candidate to serve as Washington’s Lieutenant Governor.

When public charter school students came to his office in late 2015 to talk about their schools, Steve listened and signed onto bipartisan legislation that pulled funding from lottery money instead of general school budget funds.

In his work as the top Democrat on the Transportation Committee in 2015, Hobbs led the bipartisan Joint Transportation Committee in passing transportation revenue package brought a $16 billion investment to public infrastructure and authorized voter-approved Sound Transit Light Rail.

Your primary ballots should have arrived in the mail last week. If you agree that Steve Hobbs,, is the right candidate for Lieutenant Governor we encourage you to: 1) share this email with friends and neighbors and 2) vote for Steve Hobbs by August 2.
