Stand for Children Washington’s Political Action Committee (PAC) announced early endorsements for state races this week on the heels of a fundraiser for Senator Mark Mullet and Senator Steve Hobbs, thanking them for their unflinching support for charter schools during the last legislative session.

Democrats racked up many early endorsements, with seven House Democrats, a State Senator and a Lieutenant Governor candidate on the short list. These Democrats took a politically tough vote this year to save our public charter schools along with a track record of supporting a variety of other education efforts aimed at closing opportunity and achievement gaps.

We also endorsed for reelection Senator Steve Litzow (R), who as Chair of the Senate Education and Early Learning Committee has deftly led his Senate colleagues in pushing substantial improvements to our education system over the last 4 years.

Senate early endorsements:

Senator Mark Mullet (D), District 5
Senate Majority Leader Mark Schoesler (R), District 9
Senator Ann Rivers, (R), District 18
Senator John Braun, (R), District 20
Senator Steve Litzow (R), District 41

House of Representatives early endorsements:

Rep. David Sawyer, (D), District 29
Rep. Eric Pettigrew, (D), District 37
Rep. Kristine Lytton, (D), District 40
Rep. Jeff Morris, (D), District 40
Rep. Judy Clibborn (D), District 41
Rep. Larry Springer (D), District 45
House Majority Leader Pat Sullivan, (D), District 47

State Races:

Senator Steve Hobbs (D), running for Lt. Gov.

With still more endorsements to come after a thorough vetting process, Stand for Children PAC will continue to seek education champions who are willing to put children first.
