    Miguel’s involvement in education has it roots in his parents’dedication to the field; his father was a public school math teacher and his mother serves as a bookkeeper at the middle school he attended in Port Arthur, TX. Miguel comes to Stand for Children after having recently served as Dallas ISD Superintendent Mike Miles’ Special Assistant for the past year.

    Susie grew up in Michigan, but has lived in Texas for the past 10 years. Before coming to Stand, Susie raised $57 million for IDEA Public Schools, a network of high performing charter schools, allowing them to grow from 6 schools to 28 schools. At IDEA she also worked with their board of directors to add a multi-regional governance structure and launched support services to increase college persistence of IDEA’s high school graduates.

    Michael was born and raised in Houston, Texas. Upon graduating from Milby High School in 1997, Michael attended Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, PA where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology in 2002.

    Gabriella was born in Mexico City. She attended La Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City, majoring in Broadcasting and Communications and Social Sciences before moving to Houston in 1989.

    Erica is brand new to the Dallas area and joins the Stand For Children team as the Dallas Operations and Development Coordinator. She relocated from El Paso, Texas, where she attended public school and gives credit to her orchestra teacher for shaping her passion for education, world travel, and community engagement.
