As Dallas Director, Stacey leads educators in transforming education in Texas.

Our CEO and co-founder, Jonah Edelman, was recently honored with a national award in Dallas from the Southern Methodist University. Even better, Jonah shared the spotlight with his inspiring mother, Marian Wright Edelman.

Southern Methodist University’s Simmons Luminary Awards were developed to recognize organizations that advocate for at-risk children. Each year, the Awards acknowledge a local organization, a state organization, and a national organization for championing the needs of children.  This year Jonah and his mother Marian Wright Edelman, Children’s Defense Fund founder, shared the national organization spotlight.

David J. Chard, Leon Simmons Endowed Dean of the Simmons School noted, “These children, like any other, deserve a healthy childhood and a good education; the recipients of the Luminary Award shine an important light on what we need to advance.”

At Stand for Children, we’re proud to share the spotlight with other individuals doing this important work to help our nation’s children. Thank you to SMU and Mr. Chard for this incredible honor.
