Who can apply for the Home Visit Project Study?

Only classroom teachers and teachers with special services rosters or caseloads (core content, electives, specials, SPED, GT). Only teachers who have not participated in the Home Visit Project may participate in the research study. If you completed the requirements for the 2017-18 HVP, you will be invited to continue to conduct home visit without joining the study.

When is the application deadline?

May 16, 2018

When will know if I’ve been accepted to the Home Visit Project Study?

By May 25, 2018

What if I have participated in the past?

If you participated in prior years, but not 2017-18, in order to participate in the Home Visit Project for 2018-19, you must apply for the study. If you are unsure, please email Stacey at shodge@stand.org.

Do you provide training?

Those who are randomly chosen to conduct home visits, must attend a 3.5 hour training this summer. Training registration info will be sent to those selected to conduct visits.

Training dates/times: July 17, 8:30 AM – 12 PM; July 17, 1:00 -4:30 PM ; July 18, 8:30 AM – 12 PM; July 18, 1:00 -4:30 PM; July 19, 8:30 AM – 12 PM; July 19, 1:00 -4:30 PM; August 6, 1:00 - 4:30 PM

How many home visits do I have to conduct?

Each classroom teacher will be required to visit at least 4 students from their roster. You must visit the students once in the first 6 weeks of the fall semester and visit them again before the March deadline.

Will I be compensated for participating in the Home Visit Project?

Participants will receive and extra-duty stipend of $25/visit.

How many teachers from each campus need to apply?

At least two teachers from each campus must participate, because you must visit in teams of two. Both people must be trained.
