Originally from Denver, Colorado, Carl grew up attending amazing public schools. After graduating from Saint Louis University, Carl Schneider moved to Memphis in 2013 to serve as a Teach for America corps member. Carl has been teaching for the past four years and has experience in special education, general education, and gifted education. While teaching, Carl earned his M.Ed. from Christian Brothers University in Memphis. Most recently, Carl served as the Network RtI and Gifted Coordinator for the Achievement Schools in Frayser, managing two programs at five schools. Carl also works with Teach for America developing cultural competency and a social justice orientation in new teachers. Carl is delighted to engage parents meaningfully to fight for educational justice and equity. In his spare time, Carl enjoys cooking, gardening, kickboxing, and exploring Memphis outside.
