Memphis Education Study Circles
OUR Students! OUR Schools! OUR Future!
There is no time like the present to take a stand for children.
All students, in the greater Memphis area and beyond, deserve a high quality education. OUR youth need constant support and commitment from adults to succeed in school and it is our responsibility to advocate for their best interests and their future.
Each of us has the power to make a positive impact on the lives of children in our community and help to improve our public education system.
Stand for Children invites residents from across Memphis and Shelby County to join together and participate in Education Study Circles, a facilitated series of small-group discussions in which individuals commit to use their voice to make a difference. The dialogue sessions provide opportunities for residents to delve deeper in exploring facts and current initiatives related to the consolidation of Memphis and Shelby County schools, public school funding, student achievement, and public education reform.
To ensure that we are providing EVERY child in Shelby County with opportunities to excel and succeed, our community cannot lose sight of the fact that education should remain our top priority. Joining an Education Study Circle is a unique way to engage in productive, solutions-oriented dialogue that will lead to community change. Throughout the process, participants will develop innovative action plans to proactively support our city’s most invaluable assets: OUR students and OUR schools.
YOUR involvement is needed to help make the vision for public education in Memphis a reality.
