Raphael McInnis - District 3
Raphael McInnis, a Stand member and special education advocate, has been a strong leader on the board and in the community. Raphael has been a tutor and mentor in Memphis City Schools and supports to the Arc of the Mid-South and Down Syndrome Association of Memphis and Mid-South. Raphael wants to ensure that we continue to recruit and retain the best teachers so that all students are able to have a quality and effective teacher in every classroom. He will continue to support policies in order to address the achievement gap and graduation rate challenges that would include the increase of targeted interventions so that students can be identified early on in order to be provided the necessary help and support needed to improve academically. Raphael supports the Transition Planning Commission recommendation that have positive outcomes for students. He supports the Multiple Achievement Paths and the expansion of the Teacher Effective Initiative.
Raphael will ensure the leadership we need in district three. We need a common voice throughout all our districts that is committed to continuing to reform education on the board for the entire county. Raphael is that voice.
