State Senate District 21- Jeff Yarbro

Stand for Children Tennessee endorses Jeff Yarbro for State Senate District 21

Bio- Yarbro grew up in Dyersburg, a small town in northwest Tennessee. After graduating from Harvard University, he worked for Al Gore’s presidential campaign. He attended law school at the University of Virginia. Yarbro has consistently devoted over 20% of his time as a lawyer to working on behalf of clients who cannot afford legal representation. Over the last decade, he has spent more than 1000 hours volunteering in Nashville public schools, where he has shown a commitment to expanding student opportunities and an ability to work constructively with public school educators, non-profits, businesses, philanthropies, parents, volunteers, and students. Yarbro is one of the founding board members for East End Prep, a charter elementary school in East Nashville. Jeff and his wife, Tyler, live in Sylvan Park with Jack, their four-year-old son.

Why I Stand for Children-  Everyone who believes in the potential of our children to succeed must find ways to work together. I look forward to working with the teachers, parents, and families of Stand for Children to expand pre-k, support teachers, and make lasting improvements in our public schools.

Why Stand for Children Endorses Jeff- Jeff will make an excellent state senator and will be a powerful voice in the Nashville delegation. He’s smart, hardworking, and above all, thinks through the tough education issues by zeroing in on one thing….what is best for Nashville’s kids.
