Eddie Jones, Jr., District 11

Commissioner Jones is a lifelong resident of Shelby County and a proud graduate of Hamilton High School. He attended Shelby State Community College and Tusculum College. He is married to Martel and father of seven, enjoying and counting the grandkids as they come. He and his family attend Mt. Vernon Baptist Church-Westwood, where he serves as a Deacon.

Commissioner Jones has been an employee of the City of Memphis for over 20 years as a code enforcement supervisor and former police officer, where he served as a Tact Unit officer. He is a graduate of the 2013 City of Memphis Emerging Leaders Institute Certification, member of the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated, Teamsters National Black Caucus, Shelby County Democratic Executive Committee (District 85 House Chair), and 2008 Democratic Pledge Delegate of 9th Congressional District for President Obama.

Eddie’s is an active volunteer, serving as President of Memphis Council PTA, and member of SCS Teacher Effective Initiative, Juvenile Court Oversight Ad Hoc Committee, Westwood Save our Schools Committee, Whitehaven Leadership Council Neighborhood Association, Airways Middle School Treasurer, and Shelby County School Parent Advisory Committee. He is also the coach of the Redbirds RBI Summer Youth Baseball team, and Event Coordinator for Westwood Youth Development; Inc.
