Steve Litzow for State Senator
Stand for Children Washington Political Action Committee (PAC) endorses Senator Steve Litzow (R) for State Senator in Distict 41 (Bellevue, Mercer Island, Sammamish).
WHY VOTE FOR STEVE LITZOW?
Senator Litzow has been an effective leader and a consensus builder in Olympia with a strong commitment to education funding. In his role as chairman of the Senate Education Committee, he led the fight to increase school funding by 4.5 billion in his three years leading the Senate K-12 Education Committee.
Steve also co-sponsored the College Affordability Program in 2013, reducing the cost of tuition at our state’s four-year colleges by as much as 20 percent. In last year’s legislative session, he worked across the aisle to help pass the Opportunity Gap Bill; while ensuring Washington schools remained open for 1,200 children and their families.
"Steve’s top priority is education," says Brian EmanuEls, former Mercer Island School Board Member. "I mean he’s been involved in...other issues that are important to people in the 41st District, but he went to Olympia to focus on education and that’s clearly his passion and what he’s great at."
