Jason Resch

Career Technical Education Director

Jason Resch is a product of a Career and Technical Education (CTE). As a high school student, he discovered the Business and Management Career Pathway at a very critical time in his life - entering into an articulation agreement with a local community college which guided him through graduation. Jason continued to earn a B.S. in Business and Marketing Education and ultimately an MBA. He has since been teaching related courses while simultaneously applying his experience in the advertising, branding, design and marketing industry.

Jason’s teaching career has spanned the secondary and post-secondary levels. As a secondary educator, he served as Department Lead, Co-Op Director, Student Leadership Organization Advisor and Oregon Board Chair while simultaneously collaborating with PTA organizations, Site Councils, and Advisory Committees. As a post-secondary educator, he served as an Internship Coordinator, Dual Credit Coordinator, Career Services Director, Thesis Mentor and National/International Chaperone for student experiences. Additionally, he was the Co-Founder of an in-house student design studio.

When Jason began his career in education, he made a goal to provide relevant learning opportunities for all students. While studying in graduate school, he realized he could better achieve this through sharing firsthand case studies, as opposed to teaching from text books alone. This realization guided him towards pursuing a secondary career in the business and marketing industry. Jason’s experience ranges from Account/Project Manager to Account Director where he managed award-winning projects for adidas, Citrix, Columbia Sportswear, McAfee, Microsoft Studios, Nike, Sorel, Target and Xbox. Most recently, he was Vice President, Creative Services Director, for Umpqua Bank where he oversaw the transition of the creative team growing from an $11b to a $24b corporation. These combined experiences further fostered his passion and drive to work within education management to promote awareness of career pathways.

As Stand for Children’s CTE Director, his goal is to create transformational opportunities for all students, allowing them to discover meaningful career pathways - ensuring that relevant learning is established and beneficial to the industries and business owners in which they seek employment. Jason lives in Columbia County with his partner: Melissa, son: Tucker, two daughters: Mabel Jay and Bonnye Ray, and dog: Charlie (goats, pigs and chickens to arrive this spring). His interests include camping, trail running, mountain biking, motorcycles, boats, race cars and music.
