Dave is the son of a veteran public school teacher and a product of New Jersey’s public schools. He believes that high quality public education is the cornerstone of a free and democratic society. After earning a B.A. from Rutgers University in 1995, he spent over two decades running campaigns and building strong, people-powered organizations with the state Public Interest Research Groups (PIRGs), most recently as Executive Director of OSPIRG. Dave is running Stand for Children Oregon’s ballot measure to improve Oregon’s high school graduation rate and manages Stand Oregon’s field program to advance the organization’s state-level campaigns. He lives in Portland with his wife and two daughters. In between work and family, he loves to run, swim, backpack, garden, do yoga, play terrible heavy metal and geek out on science.
