Stand for Civil Rights Protections

The security of every community in Oregon is on the ballot this year, and it’s up to every one of us to vote NO on Measure 105 to keep our families safe.

Measure 105 would overturn Oregon’s 30-year-old sanctuary law. That law keeps federal immigration enforcement in the hands of the federal government, and allows local law enforcement to focus on protecting the communities they serve.

The law also prevents racial profiling that was prevalent when local police were expected to search for people who supposedly looked like they could be here without documentation.

Cracking the door to racial profiling against any Oregonians opens the flood gates for civil rights violations against all of us. As the late, great Martin Luther King said: “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.”

Every student, every parent, every teacher – every single person in this state – will be less safe as a result of Measure 105.
