There are only two full weeks left in this year’s short legislative session but there’s time to get involved and make your voice heard on behalf of our state’s children.

Here are two great upcoming opportunities:

• The Oregon Education Association is organizing the Strong Schools, Strong Oregon Rally at Noon on Monday, February 20th on the Capitol Steps.  This rally calls out the roll that adequate school funding plays in supporting our kids and communities.

• Tuition Equity legislation will have an informational hearing on Tuesday, February 21st, 3-5 PM in the House Higher Education Committee in Hearing Room E. This legislation would allow students who graduate from an Oregon high school but don’t have proper citizenship documentation to attend an Oregon University at instate tuition rates.  Find out more about why Oregon Stand for Children supports Tuition Equity.
