My Children Inspired Me to Earn My Degree

I recently celebrated a major milestone. I completed my bachelor’s degree in theology.

To be honest, there were times I never thought I’d get here. Juggling a full-time job with raising kids made me doubt myself and question if I’d ever return to the classroom. But I refused to let fear win.

If you’re celebrating your own education milestone, or that of a loved one, share your story so we can recognize all that hard work. I know firsthand what it’s like to spend countless nights and weekends studying, sacrificing fun to further yourself. You deserve to be celebrated.

The sounds of my babies cheering from the crowd when my name was called is a moment I’ll never forget. My children were the inspiration for completing my degree. I wanted them to witness the power of resilience and to learn that it’s never too late to achieve your dreams.

And I’m not done. Soon I’ll be enrolling in a master’s program in religious psychology, and then pursue my doctorate.

Wherever you are in your education journey, share your story of how you got there to inspire others who may be questioning whether they can keep going.
