Jared O'Neil is a high school senior and a recipient of Stand's Beat the Odds scholarship, which we award to students who overcome incredible obstacles to excel in school. This fall, he will be the first in his family to attend college.

Jared's hard work and determination got him to this point, but he says his counselor, Ben Coulter, was his motivation to never give up.

For National School Counseling Week, Jared and Ben are sharing their story to show the vital role counselors play in young people's lives and why it's crucial for all students to have this support.

Your gift today will help create access to counselors in schools where right now students are in need of support. Expand access to counselors by making a donation today.

In Washington state, Stand families are working to pass legislation to establish a school counseling program in every district to serve every student. Counselors not only inspire students to achieve college and career goals, they also support academic progress and mental health.

Stand's work in Washington state follows our recent achievement in Arizona, helping lead a campaign to pass a pathbreaking education funding measure to support many aspects of students' educational experiences, including hiring additional counselors.

Please consider honoring the dedicated work of school counselors this week by donating to Stand and helping fund our movement to give more students access to counseling services in their schools.
