Take Action for Students
Every child deserves an excellent education – from preschool to high school. But right now, too few students are getting a fair shot at a bright future.
Stand for Children is working in schools and communities across the country, as well as at the federal level, to change the education conversation and to make sure that all students have access to a quality public education.
Our National Campaigns
Although Stand works mostly at the local level, helping families and communities change their schools and districts for the better, we take a stand on several national issues that impact students across the country.
The Protect DREAMers campaign invites our nation’s education leaders to stand together and call upon elected officials to protect the law-abiding, productive students, graduates, and teachers covered under Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) from the threat of deportation.
Our Kids Not Cuts campaign urges parents and education advocates from across the country to contact their Congressperson and tell them to oppose proposed cuts to the education budget by the Trump Administration.
We take a stand on both of these important issues in an effort to ensure that a quality public education is attainable for all students, regardless of their gender, race, or ZIP code. Read more about our national campaigns and discover ways to add your voice to this important conversation.
Our state campaigns
Stand works directly with families, schools, districts, and policy makers in 11 states throughout the country - Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Oklahoma, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, and Washington. Each state has its own unique education issues and political landscape. Stand’s work in each state varies because of these factors.
Find out what Stand is working on in your state to see how you can take action for students and improve public schools in your area. If you are not located in a Stand state but still want to help improve education for the students who need it most, find your local education advocacy organization and join their mission.
We are still a long way from achieving equality in education, so whether it's with us or with another education organization outside of our 11 states, we can all use your help.
