The Role

Your role is to deepen our impact by driving success across Stand’s Development teams. You will play a critical role in support of our VP of Development and our eleven state affiliates by; managing donor contributions, providing research and prospect management support, and working behind-the-scenes for successful execution of all development strategies. Your responsibilities include supporting the fundraising strategies of the 501c3, 501c4 and political action committees.

We focus primarily on increasing early literacy and high school success. Additional priorities include, improving school quality and ensuring adequate funding spent wisely.

Responsibilities

Research and prospect management Support

  • Maintain calendar of national donor/foundation tasks and deadlines – set and send reminders
  • Liaison with CEO and COO offices to ensure all donor meetings/calls are adequately prepped and followed up
  • Donor prospect research and relationship mapping to existing contacts utilizing tools such as RELSCI
  • Creation and maintenance of comprehensive profiles for top organizational donors
  • Fundraising event support (on project basis, e.g. Beat the Odds)
  • Provide national development support for state affiliates without development staff
  • Donor communications support as assigned

 Implement development communications and reporting

  • Partner with the Director of Donor Communications, Marketing and Communications Directors and Director of Digital Strategy to develop a robust donor communications strategy that guides the communications calendar and creation of donor-centered collateral materials;
  • Work with key program staff to develop content for regular external communications with supporters.

 Perform gift processing and gift acknowledgement processes

  • Manage and perform the daily gift processing, including Salesforce gift entry, gift batching, and archiving gift documentation
  • Perform Salesforce development entry and send gift acknowledgments for state affiliates without development staff
  • Review Salesforce QA reports, follow up with development staff on incomplete tasks (e.g. tasks not being closed, tardy acknowledgements, old open gifts with past close dates)

 Provide administrative support

  • Update company information with sites like Charity Navigator, GuideStar, etc.
  • Coordinate cohort and national development team monthly calls, agendas, minutes, and attachments
  • Ad hoc report requests such as fundraising progress for certain campaigns
  • Create and maintain internal Stand development on-line resources (procedures documentation, training materials, etc)
  • Maintain on-line organization of Stand gift documentation
  • Administrative support for VP Development

 Qualifications

  • Passionate and unwavering belief in Stand for Children’s mission and strategy to ensure that all children, regardless of their background, graduate from high school prepared for and with access to a college education; 
  • Ideally professional experience in development 
  • Superior relational skills and familiarity with fundraising best practices with individual donors; 
  • Proven project management skills, including the ability to balance multiple tasks and projects while delivering quality work on schedule; Event planning experience strongly preferred; 
  • Outstanding written communication skills and strong attention to detail; 
  • Competency with a diverse group of donors and commitment to Diversity Equity and Inclusion 
  • Experience with 501c4 and/or political fundraising preferred; and 
  • Salesforce experience preferred 
  • Fluency in power point, excel, Microsoft word and Outlook
  • Positive, go-getter attitude
  • Ability to innovate and take responsibility
  • Job does require some travel
  • Ability to be in multiple locations in the course of a given day, the ability to transport items, and the ability to set up and take down meeting equipment (chairs, tables, projectors, screens, etc.); May require the ability to climb stairs;

Stand for Children consists of two separate entities. Stand for Children, Inc., a grassroots membership organization is exempt under section 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code, and Stand for Children Leadership Center, a leadership development organization is exempt under section 501(c)(3)
