Ángel was born in Rio Grande, Texas and raised in Chihuahua, Mexico. Coming from a Mexican/American family, Angel developed an interest in political change and community development at a young age. He went on to major in Political Science with a minor in Latin America and Border Studies at the University of Texas at El Paso. After graduation, he began working with the local tax assessor and was quickly recognized for his natural skills in community work. He was brought onto the campaign team to help find and train volunteers as well as engage voters and teach them how to use their voice and power.
Ángel continued his career in political campaigns, going on to work across Texas as a community organizer for local and congressional campaigns. While working in the political field, he had the opportunity to gain several skills and to help different people from varied backgrounds come together to demand change, and find support for their different needs.
When he’s not working, you can find Ángel playing sports, running in a park, or at the beach and hiking the closest mountain.
