A Year in Advocacy

Who We Are | 12/23/2015

I'm excited to combine my diverse communications experiences with my education background to promote Stand's work.

2015 was an exciting year for Stand for Children Mass.
In Boston, members worked to kick off the Pre-K for MA campaign, to expand access for 3-and 4-year-olds in underperforming school districts across the Commonwealth. In Springfield, members worked hard to support the newly implemented Empowerment Zone, which provides resources and support to nine middle schools. Stand also established the new Holyoke chapter, and parents have gotten the chance to sit down with Dr. Zrike in intimate ‘Listen & Learn’ meetings, to learn more about the receivership. Finally, parents advocated for high standards and assessments that test their student on mastery of 21st century skills.

We’re eager to continue this work in 2016 but before that happens we'd like to kick off the New Year by counting down our top advocacy moments from each month in 2015 - check out our video highlighting our favorite actions from across Massachusetts!
